Warts

Warts are common skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear anywhere on the body but are most often found on the hands, feet, and face. Common types include rough, raised bumps on the hands (common warts), painful growths on the soles of the feet (plantar warts), and small, smooth bumps on the face, neck, or legs (flat warts).

Warts spread through direct contact with HPV, which enters the skin through small cuts. They thrive in warm, moist environments like public showers or pools. Treatments include over-the-counter remedies, cryotherapy (freezing), and prescription medications. Advanced cases may require laser therapy or minor surgery. To prevent warts, keep your skin clean and dry, avoid walking barefoot in public places, and don't share personal items like towels or nail clippers.
